Bulls' Godwin faces long lay-off

Wayne Godwin
X-rays confirmed Godwin has fractured his tibia

Bradford hooker Wayne Godwin could be sidelined for up to three months after breaking his right leg in Saturday's 44-10 Super League defeat at Wigan.

The 26-year-old fell awkwardly trying to tackle Iafeta Paleaaesina and was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Godwin will see a specialist on Monday to confirm the length of his absence.

Coach Steve McNamara told the Bulls website: "It's disappointing but injuries are part of the game and we'll have to cope without him for a while."

To add to the Bulls' injury problems, fellow hooker Terry Newton picked up an arm injury in the same match, while forwards Andy Lynch, Jamie Langley and David Solomona are already out injured.
