Stosic will join Wakefield at the beginning of December |
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have completed the signing of prop James Stosic from the Gold Coast Titans. The 26-year-old Kiwi has signed a two-year deal and will arrive at the club in December. Wildcats coach John Kear said: "I'm very excited about having James on board and I'm sure he will add greatly to the team. "He brings plenty of experience from the NRL and I know he can't wait to get over here and make a real impact." Kear added: "However, I would like to stress that he is in no way a replacement for Adam Watene. "James signed for the club several weeks before Adam's sudden death and out of respect for Adam, who was highly regarded by his team-mates and everyone at the club, we have waited until now to release the signing." Stosic has been playing in the NRL for the last four years and has made almost 50 appearances during his time with Cronulla Sharks and then the Gold Coast Titans. | I've definitely got a winning attitude and hopefully when I come to the club I can add something to the team | Commenting on his move to Wakefield, Stosic said: "I've played the last four years in the NRL - I played with Cronulla Sharks, which was great because I got to play with quite a few experienced players. "Cronulla was more of a team that played my style of rugby so I really enjoyed my time there. "But at the Gold Coast I learnt a lot too from people like Luke Bailey, Preston Campbell, Scott Prince; all these players are well renowned. I've had great experiences in the NRL - obviously it's the so-called strongest competition in the world. "You don't think 'oh, this is one of those years when I can't be bothered', you always want to win and succeed and I've definitely got a winning attitude and hopefully when I come to the club I can add something to the team. "I like the style of play in the Super League. Everyone in the competition is big and aggressive and they use their props a lot, so being a prop I should hopefully get involved in the game a lot more."
