Clark fury at 'worst performance'

Clark's side have slipped to 10th place in the League One table

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has slammed his players after their 1-0 defeat at Yeovil on Tuesday.

The Terriers' second consecutive defeat, courtesy of a Shaun MacDonald goal, leaves them eight points adrift of the League One play-offs.

Clark told BBC Radio Leeds: "We haven't performed so it's a very disappointing evening for us. We've probably produced our worst performance of my time here.

"Once again we're talking about an individual error from a set-piece."

"If I keep saying this people will probably think that we don't do any work but I can assure people that we are doing work and it's individuals that are switching off.

"It's up to me to find a solution - either we change the personnel or eventually the point clicks with the player. "I hate losing and I'm not from a losing mentality.

"It hurt me Saturday [at Leicester City] but I had a lot of positives to take out of the game.

"I don't like losing on a regular basis and wherever I've been in my life that has been the case - I don't accept defeat and I'm not a good loser.

"I'll respect my opposite number and say 'well done' to him but the journey home is going to be horrendous and tonight when I get home it's going to be equally horrendous, so I just need to get in the office tomorrow and start planning for Peterborough.

"I can't wait for Saturday now and I hope my players feel the same way."

Clark has also fired a warning to those players who he feels are underperforming.

"Every day of these players careers while they're with me is vitally important whether they're training days or recovery days," he said.

"If they want to go where I'm wanting to go and I believe I can go then they have to have the same mentality - if they don't, well then we all know what happens in football."
