Postponement costs Bantams dear

Bradford will miss out on 50,000 in lost revenue after the postponement of Monday's League Two match against Darlington which was to be televised.

Referee Andy D'Urso called the game off at 1815 GMT due to the snowy weather conditions in west Yorkshire.

City's Joint-chairman Mark Lawn told BBC Radio Leeds: "This cost us 50,000 - something we certainly don't need.

"I suppose the positive is the lads get a rest until Saturday so they'll be up for it going down to Gillingham."

"With half an hour to go before he (D'Urso) called it off I think it was playable but then again I'm not the referee - it's up to the referee and I'm not going to tell him how to do his job," Lawn added.

But D'Urso said that he was left with little option but to call the game off once he saw the pitch.

"It was fairly straightforward in the end - the playing surface is perfect and Bradford have done a terrific job in terms of having the pitch covered to protect the surface," he said.

"Unfortunately since about quarter to four we've had continual snow which seems to have got heavier and heavier as the evening has worn on.

"From about six o'clock we got another forecast and we were advised that this snow was here for the rest of the evening."
