Rooney missed the Challenge Cup semi-final

Wakefield head coach Jon Kear has hinted Jamie Rooney could return to his squad for Sunday's derby with Castleford Tigers.

The stand-off has missed the last two matches due to illness and a lack of form but after suffering their sixth straight defeat he could come back in.

"Jamie's trained all week and he's looked quick and sprightly," Kear told BBC Radio Leeds.

"He'll put his hand up to return and I could give some youngsters a go too."
