Ellis had an injury-disrupted 2010

Championship side Leigh Centurions have signed St Helens half-back Jamie Ellis on a one-year deal.

The 21-year-old, who did not make an appearance last season, links up with former Saints coach Ian Millward.

The Leigh head coach said: "It's a coup because he's talented. It's a pretty good signing for us. He's a player for the English game of the future.

"He wasn't looking at going to another Super League club, he wanted to play week-in week-out."
