Karl Pryce agrees new Wigan Warriors contract

Wigan winger Karl Pryce has signed a new one-year deal with the Warriors, while utility back Cameron Phelps has left the DW Stadium.

Pryce, 24, made just seven appearances in the Super League last season, his second year back in rugby league after a spell in union with Gloucester.

Australian Phelps joined Wigan from Canterbury Bulldogs in 2008.

But he fell out of favour after the defeat by Harlequins in April and did not feature for the first team again.

England international Sam Tomkins has been given Phelps' number one shirt for next season, suggesting a permanent move to full-back after the success of his switch in the middle of last season.

Winger Darrell Goulding is given the number two shirt ahead of Amos Roberts, while Michael McIlorum takes over the number nine jersey from the departed Mark Riddell.

"I am delighted with the shape and the strength of our squad for 2011," said head coach Michael Maguire.

"We are looking forward to the new season as the club looks to build on its success of winning last season's Grand Final."
