Joint head coach Keiron Purtill will leave Huddersfield Giants and rejoin former club St Helens at the end of the current season. Purtill, who joined the Giants in 2005, will link up with Saints as assistant to new head coach Mick Potter. "It was agreed with Keiron quite some time back that he was moving on," Giants managing director Richard Thewlis said. "I believe he is an outstanding coach and can see why Saints want him back." Thewlis added: "We had explored the idea of Keiron extending his time with us back in the early months of the year, but he felt it was the right time to move on. "I am sure that all at the club wish Keiron all the very best and share my confidence in him continuing to do his all for us." | I am looking forward to the challenge ahead |
Purtill, who has coached some of the game's top players, said: "I would like to thank everyone at Huddersfield Giants for their support over the last three years. "The prospect to work again at Super League's most successful club with a fantastic playing roster is very appealing. "I am looking forward to the challenge ahead. These are exciting times both on and off the field for St Helens."
