McRae's Reds are just two Super League points behind Wigan |
Salford coach Shaun McRae has urged his side to regroup quickly after their 28-6 Challenge Cup loss at Wigan. Warriors eased into the last four after Pat Richards scored a hat-trick of tries at the JJB Stadium. McRae told BBC Radio Manchester: "What we've got to do is pick ourselves up now and dust ourselves off. "We've got 13 Super League games left and we've got to try to win as many of those games as we can and learn the lessons from losing to Wigan." "Let's keep in perspective Wigan are a very good side. They're a terrific team," he added. | It's a shame because we prepared well for the game and our form going into the game had been excellent Salford City Reds coach Shaun McRae |
"Their position in the Super League table probably doesn't do justice to the strength of their roster but it also indicates they can be put under pressure and they can be beaten. "The thing I will say is everybody tried. It's not like people went out and didn't try to get things and didn't try to get the result but our execution wasn't good enough. "It's a shame because we prepared well for the game and our form going into the game had been excellent. "Our preparation had been terrific but I have to thank the fans because they came out in their droves and supported the team. "I think they felt like we did that we had a great opportunity to be at least in the semi-final but it wasn't our night."
