McRae's side have lost two of their last three Super League games. |
Salford City Reds boss Shaun McRae has praised the character of utility back Stefan Ratchford. Ratchford, 20, was outstanding in the Reds' 24-4 victory against Huddersfield at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday. McRae told BBC Radio Manchester: "That's what I've been saying about Ratchford. He will sit down, bide his time and wait and wait and wait. "Then there is an opportunity for him at stand-off which he has taken with both hands." He added: "The half-backs have been terrific and that's nice to have. "It's nice to know that if a guy like Jeremy Smith can't make your team because of selection - not because of injury - that shows you the kind of depth you're able to get in your club and that's what we want. "So now I've got that selection headache I suppose which is a nice headache to have - you don't need a lot of painkillers for that type of headache."
