Huddersfield (4) 4 Try: Robinson
Salford (12) 24 Tries: Wilshere, Goulding, Myler, Henry Goals: Wilshere 4
John Wilshere scored half of Salford's points as the Reds capitalised on an error-strewn Huddersfield performance. Richie Myler sent Wilshere over for a try that he converted and although Luke Robinson took advantage of a high kick to reply, the Giants were never in it. Wilshere then kicked the extras after Darrell Goulding's try to extend the lead to 12-4 at the break. Richard Myler raced the length of the field for a breakaway score before Mark Henry's late try wrapped up a 24-4 win.
Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown: "We made 17 errors and made another 17 or 18 errors last week and the week before as well. It could be a confidence thing as some players might be looking at how high we are in the league table and think they must be doing really well. "But things haven't been going well for the last month. All teams have lean periods but the successful teams have shorter lean spells. We've got to hope that ours comes to an end sooner rather than later." Salford coach Shaun McRae: "We had a 90% completion rate and that gave us a platform for the victory. It was our most controlled and disciplined performance of the season but Huddersfield opened us up a few times and we had to scramble back to keep them out. "Sometimes the scoreboard doesn't reflect the way a game went and if Huddersfield had taken their chances it would have made a difference, so credit must go to our defence."
