Talau was part of one of the most successful sides in St Helens' history |
Salford City Reds have signed New Zealand centre Willie Talau from St Helens on a two-year deal. The 32-year-old played his last game for Saints in Saturday's 24-16 Grand Final defeat to Leeds Rhinos after six seasons with the club. "Willie is an outstanding player and very experienced having played at the highest level for many years," said Reds director of football Steve Simms. "He will bring that experience and knowledge of the game to the Willows." Talau is expected to join Salford for pre-season in December after returning from duty with Samoa in the World Cup. He joins winger Dean McGillivray, also from St Helens, and prop Rob Parker from Warrington as Salford's new signings in October.
