Stand-in captain Chad Randall believes Harlequins have the potential to become Super League giants. Quins finished 11th last season, missing out on the play-offs, and launch their 2010 campaign at home to Wakefield on 30 January. But Randall, who will lead the side in the absence of the injured Rob Purdham, has high hopes for the future. "You can see this club one day, if it is all done right, being the biggest club in the Super League," he said. "People love teams that are winning. It would be great to see us in round 22 this year playing Leeds and being in the top four. "We had that opportunity last year but we did not perform. | We have got to make a name for ourselves and pump this club up |
"We have got a great group of players who all live in the Kingston area and we have a great life. "We need to perform on the park. We are the product and at the end of the day, the fans come and watch us. "We need to be high-up in the competition for consecutive years. We can't just go for half a season and expect them to keep coming back. "We have got to make a name for ourselves and pump this club up. We fell away last year but that was due to injuries. "The good thing about that was so many juniors got a run in the side. They were probably not ready then but they are now. "The experience they gained last season meant they realised the level they need to be at and we are optimistic for the season." Quins are determined to boost their attendances this season and have already reported an increase in season ticket sales. They have also agreed a new three-year shirt sponsorship deal, the biggest in the club's history.
