Randall was the first player to make 100 appearances for Harlequins RL |
Australian hooker Chad Randall will captain Harlequins in Rob Purdham's absence through injury. Purdham, 29, could be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing an operation on a torn shoulder ligament. Randall, also 29, who is in his fifth season at Quins, will lead the side for the first time in Friday's friendly against London Skolars. Last year, the former Manly Sea Eagles player made his 100th consecutive appearances for Quins. He said: "I've been with this group of players for several years now and have played a lot of game-time for Quins which will all definitely help." Harlequins head coach Brian McDermott said: "Chad Randall has been a massive leader for us over the past few years. "His on-the-field leadership and demeanour won't need to change much, it's just he'll be wearing the captain's armband for now."
