Former Cumbrian farmer Rob Purdham is now settled in south-west London
Harlequins rugby league club captain Rob Purdham admits he would be happy to play out the remainder of his career at The Stoop after extending his contract.
The 29-year-old Cumbrian has signed a new deal that will see him staying in London until the end of 2011.
"It's down to Harlequins really. I've signed for two more years after this one," Purdham told BBC London 94.9.
"If I can still play after the end of this contract I'd love to stay here until I can't play anymore."
Purdham admits he did not need to think too hard about extending his contract with the club.
"For me there wasn't that much to think about," added Purdham, who hails from Sellafield. "Me and my wife are settled in London.
"The way the club's going it was just a case of getting everything personally organised and it fell into place pretty quickly."
Harlequins sit fourth in Super League going into a tough game at St Helens on Friday night, but Purdham thinks they are yet to hit top form.
"I still don't think we've played the best we could," he said. "We've got a lot of improving to do still and we play the best team in the league on Friday night so we'll see where we're at."
"We looked back and we all thought we played really well [in beating Leeds] and then we looked back and there's things we didn't do that well so there's still room for improvement."
