Sinfield was injured in the game against Melbourne Storm

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has been ruled out of the Harlequins game on Friday due to injury.

Sinfield limped off in the first half of the Rhinos' World Club Championship defeat to Melbourne on Sunday.

Team physio Meirion Jones told the official club website: "Sinfield had a severe impact to the front of the thigh. We will monitor his progress.

"He will not be available this week and will require further assessment after the weekend ahead of our next game."
