Ablett signed a new contract with the Rhinos in January |
Leeds Rhinos forward Carl Ablett has been ruled out for at least eight weeks with an ankle injury. The versatile 24-year-old picked up the injury in the Rhinos' 24-10 defeat by Castleford last Friday. However, the Super League champions are hoping that new signing Brett Delaney is nearing full fitness following a knee injury. "The medical team are optimistic of him being fully fit to train in the next few weeks," said physio Meirion Jones. The Rhinos will look to bounce back from the defeat by the Tigers when they travel to Wakefield on Sunday. | We need to look after our own form and make sure that we put the lessons from last week into practise |
The Wildcats currently top the Super League table, with two wins from their opening two matches. "They were a quality side last season and they showed everyone how good they were by finishing in the play-offs," said veteran centre Keith Senior. "We were disappointing against Castleford but all credit to them. They played the conditions better than we did but hopefully we will have a faster track at Wakefield on Sunday and that will suit us better. "They have got a number of danger players who we will need to nullify but, most importantly, we need to look after our own form and make sure that we put the lessons from last week into practise."
