No love lost for Leeds boss Neil Back

Back won every domestic honour in the game with Leicester

Leeds Carnegie head coach Neil Back says all friendships will be put aside on Sunday when his former club Leicester Tigers visit Headingley.

Leeds will be searching for just their third Premiership win while Leicester need the points to remain top.

"I had a fantastic 18 years there and still have a good relationship with them," Back told BBC Radio Leeds.

"But during the game we are not friends, we are the bitterest of enemies," he added.

Leeds boost a good home record against the defending champions, having beaten then five times at Headingley. The latest of which came in a 28-17 win in the LV= Cup in November.

But Back's first return to Welford Road later that month in the Premiership ended in a heavy 39-6 loss.

"Obviously regardless of the opposition we need to pick up points and get our first home Premiership win," he said.

"I would love to beat them but honestly no more than any other club. I want to win because of the hard work and time and effort the players are putting in. Hopefully that will be rewarded.

"I don't read much into the fact they have players missing with the Six Nations. They have a very big squad and they only have four players away.

"Last week they brought 250 caps off the bench, so they are not short of experience and quality.

"They'll have a strong team out, one that has played and won well in the past in the Premiership. They'll be coming here to win and we have to match them in every department and be at out best."
