Hull Kingston Rovers forward Ben Galea is contemplating retirement at the end of the 2011 season.

The 32-year-old Australian back-row man, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is going into his fourth season at Craven Park.

"I'm thinking about retiring at the end of the year depending on how the body's feeling at the back end of the season," he told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I don't want to play too long and want to finish while I'm playing well."

But he admits that he could still change his mind about calling time on his career.

"It's a moveable decision," he said, "because, if I'm playing well, the body feels good and I think I've got another good season in me, then I'll play on.

"I don't want to have a final year where people say 'he shouldn't have played too long'.

"I want to finish while I'm still playing strong and that way I'll always have the respect of the fans and the players."

Galea has made 77 appearances for the Robins after joining from NRL side Wests Tigers ahead of the 2008 season.

He started his career with Balmain, where he played two games before becoming part of the merged Wests Tigers club in 2000.

He went on to make 151 appearances for Wests, running in 32 tries during that time.
