England international Peter Fox is showing good early season form

Hull KR winger Peter Fox made a statement of intent to England coach Steve McNamara with a hat-trick in Sunday's pre-season win over Salford.

The 26-year-old has six England caps but was not selected for the Four Nations tournament in November 2010.

Rovers coach Justin Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's a winger and that's what they get paid for but we played with nice width.

"He should do well now we've got Blake Green in alongside Michael Dobson."

The Robins' new Australian signing Green, who joined the club from NRL side Canterbury during the close season, also scored on his debut.

There was also a hat-trick of tries for centre Kris Welham as Rovers eclipsed Salford 40-6 at Craven Park.
