Scunthorpe United have completed the signings of striker Joe Garner and defender Michael Nelson.
Garner, 22, has joined from Nottingham Forest on a loan deal until the end of the season.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've got to prove to a lot of people that I can play at this level."
Nelson, 30, who has struggled with injury this season at Norwich, joins for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Having started his career as a semi-professional, Nelson finally caught the eye of Bury in 2001.
He later joined Hartlepool, where he made over 250 appearances before joining Norwich in 2009 and helped them gain promotion.
Garner started his career at Blackburn Rovers but excelled after joining Carlisle, where he scored 14 times in 35 games before moving to Forest.
He spent time on loan at Huddersfield in League One earlier this season, but failed to find the net in any of his 19 appearances.
Both players are set to make their debuts in the Iron's away game at Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
