Hall's father Dave played for Hull KR from 1970-1985 |
Hull KR have signed centre Craig Hall on a two-year deal following his release from local rivals Hull FC. The 22-year-old left the KC Stadium following their exit from the Super League play-offs. "I'm really chuffed. I've been in talks for the last couple of weeks and can't wait to get started with them," he told BBC Radio Humberside. "Not long after Hull said they were letting me go, I spoke to Justin Morgan [coach] and it was hard to say no." Hall, who has scored 39 tries for the Black and Whites, joined the club nine years ago having worked his way through their academy set-up, eventually making his first-team debut in 2007 under then coach Peter Sharp. However, he struggled to hold down a regular place in the side under current coach Richard Agar, and even had a loan spell at Championship side Widnes Vikings. | 606: DEBATE |
Unfortunately, his last game for Hull FC lasted only five minutes when he suffered knee ligament damage in the play-off derby defeat to the Robins. But Hall said the news of the injury is positive. "I've had scans, seen the specialist and don't need an operation so should be fit for the start of pre-season." He becomes the sixth player to swap the KC Stadium for Craven Park under coach Morgan, following on from Chris Chester, Paul Cooke, Shaun Briscoe, Scott Wheeldon and Josh Hodgson.
