Hull KR relaxed on Morgan future

Hull Kingston Rovers chairman Neil Hudgell is confident coach Justin Morgan will remain with the club.

Morgan, 34, is out of contract in 2010 but Hudgell told BBC Radio Humberside he is unconcerned by the situation.

"We've talked two or three times about an extended deal. He'd like one, we'd like to give him one," said Hudgell.

"It's really just a case of bits and pieces that are involved in contract negotiations but I don't have a worry about that."

But Hudgell admitted he was aware of rumours linking his coach with a move away from Craven Park next season.

"I've heard a bit of speculation this week. I've not even asked [Morgan] about it, I mean he's an honest man and he'd tell me if there was anything he needed to talk about on that front."

I'm very happy with where I am at the moment

Morgan, who celebrated his birthday with a 28-46 victory at Castleford on Sunday, is also calm about the situation.

"I don't see it as a major issue. I'm very happy with where I am at the moment," Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I remember talking to Neil a few weeks back and saying 'look, let's get the players sorted'. There's no dramas from me, we need to worry about putting some other things in place before worrying about a contract for myself," he added.

"We've had a couple of brief chats and there'll be no issues."

The Robins' win over the Tigers at the weekend leaves them five points clear of fifth-placed Wigan as they look to qualify for the play-offs for the first time since winning promotion to Super League in 2006.
