Huddersfield (12) 24 Tries: D Hodgson, Lunt, Lawrence, Cudjoe Goals: B Hodgson 4
Huddersfield kept up the pressure on St Helens and Leeds at the top of the Super League table with victory over struggling Hull to move into second. The Challenge Cup semi-finalists were far from fluent, but first-half tries from David Hodgson and Shaun Lunt put them in control. Michael Lawrence then extended the Giants' advantage just after the break. Leroy Cudjoe put the seal on the victory with his 10th try in seven games late on.
Hull coach Richard Agar: "We started the game in bright fashion and we were let down by basic skill throughout the game. It hurts us. "The players are pretty flat and pretty quiet. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since we were top of the league. I think at times things haven't possibly gone our way through no fault of our own. "You're under pressure wherever you're sat in the league and our form suggests that as a club we're all under pressure, myself included." Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown: "What was pleasing was it was a nice tough game, they (Hull) needed a result for their year. "Early on it was pretty tough and we made it difficult for ourselves with a lot of errors but defensively we're going pretty well and we're pleased with the result. "We've now got some selection headaches going into next week and there are going to be some people that miss out. The effort has been really good and that's one of the things I expect every week."
