Crossman signed a two-year deal with the Robins in October |
Hull Kingston Rovers forward Garret Crossman believes a win at Castleford on Sunday will kick-start their season. The Robins have lost their last five games and the Australian prop thinks a win will boost everyone's morale. "We have to make a concerted effort to win because we haven't been in the winners circle for a number of weeks now," he told BBC Radio Humberside. "We've got to look to put 80 minutes of solid football together instead of playing in patches." Crossman, a close-season signing from NRL Grand Final winners Melbourne Storm, was one of eight new signings for the club and thinks they have yet to gel as a team. "It's still coming together but that is frustrating at times but Castleford is going to be a big challenge." | The expectations are going to be on us because they're at the bottom of the ladder and nobody is going to be expecting them to win Hull KR forward Garret Crossman |
Crossman has been used virtually exclusively as an impact player coming off the bench since his arrival at Craven Park and he admits that he has found that role a hard one. "I've been used as a super-sub and I guess that's a bit hard sometimes when you come on and you've got to defend back-to-back sets of six and you don't get your hands on the ball very much." However, he reckons they need to snap the current losing streak in the Super League against the Tigers at the Jungle. "Going over there the expectations are going to be on us because they're at the bottom of the ladder and nobody is going to be expecting them to win, so Cas is going to be an excellent opportunity for us."
