Briscoe is being tipped for international honours |
Hull Kingston Rovers coach Justin Morgan believes Shaun Briscoe should be in the England squad for the upcoming test match against France. The Robins full-back will have to oust St Helens star Paul Wellens but Morgan insists he is good enough. "I think it's time for him to get a crack at it and see if he can handle that sort of level," Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside. "I'd certainly go for him in the mid-season test and go from there." England travel to Toulouse to take on France on Friday 27 June in a one-off test ahead of the World Cup later in the year in Australia and Morgan is pushing his player forward as one to watch out in the tournament. | I'd certainly go for Briscoe and see how he does then the ball's in his court Hull KR Coach Justin Morgan |
Briscoe is in his first season at Craven Park from cross-city rivals Hull FC and Morgan believes he is a much improved player. "He's added a huge amount to his game this year. He was a very good footballer when he came to us and I think he is starting to add a few different dimensions to his game which is great for us," Morgan added. "He's defensively very sound but on the flip side Wellens has been there and has got the runs on the board. I'd certainly go for Briscoe and see how he does then the ball's in his court really."
