Paul Cooke is available for the first time this season following his ban. |
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan is refusing to be drawn on whether he will throw Paul Cooke straight into Good Friday's derby clash with Hull at Craven Park. Cooke is available after serving a six game ban following his cross-city move last April and is in the 19-man squad. But Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside: "You'll have to wait until 11.15 on Friday. "He's available. It's something I'll talk to our coaches about but Paul's keen to play." The 26-year-old Rovers stand-off can play after coming to the end of the suspension imposed by the RFL for an illegal approach while he was still contracted to Hull. | Paul's a big game player and he's a key player and there's a big chance he'll be playing on Friday Justin Morgan Hull KR Coach |
Although the focus of attention is on Cooke, Morgan was keen to stress that he does have other players back from injury for the derby game. "Both Rhys Lovegrove and Ben Fisher are fit and come into contention," said Morgan. However, Morgan accepted that all eyes are on Cooke. "Paul's a big game player and he's a key player," he said. "And there's a big chance he'll be playing on Friday."
