Hull KR have signed Australian utility back Daniel Fitzhenry, who becomes their sixth recruit for next season.

The 27-year-old has been released from the 12 months remaining on his contract with Wests Tigers, with whom he won the NRL title in 2005.

He will join team-mate Ben Galea at Craven Park on a two-year contract.

"Ben and Daniel approached the club about being released," said Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell. "We wish them all the best."

McDonnell added: "The financial incentives for them to make the move to England were very good and the club was happy to grant their release.

"They will always be part of the Wests Tigers family."

Fitzhenry has made 23 appearances for the Sydney club this year and leaves as their leading tryscorer with 43 tries from 120 games.

Another Wests player, centre Paul Whatuira, will also be in Super League in 2008, having signed a three-year deal with Huddersfield.

In addition to Fitzhenry and Galea, Rovers have already recruited Chev Walker, Peter Fox, Shaun Briscoe and Jake Webster.
