Webster has so far won seven caps for New Zealand |
Hull KR have confirmed the signing of New Zealand Test three-quarter Jake Webster on a three-year contract. Webster, 23, will play his last match for Queensland's Gold Coast Titans on Sunday after securing a release from the final two years of his deal. "I'm delighted we have a player of Jake's status and international class joining us next year," Robins coach Justin Morgan told the Hull Daily Mail. "He will be the most high-profile signing we'll make this summer." Webster has scored 32 tries in 66 appearances for the Titans and Melbourne Storm. Morgan added: "He will be in the top bracket of centres next season and will have the same impact on the team as Michael Vella did this year. "We all know centres and outside backs are a rare commodity, and to have one of his quality is a major boost. It signals our intent for next season." Rovers, three points above Salford with three matches left, will guarantee their survival in Super League if the Reds lose at Wigan on Friday and they win the Hull derby at the KC Stadium on Sunday.
