Hull have suffered an injury blow with Richard Whiting and Mark Calderwood ruled out for the rest of the season.

Utility back Whiting, 25, has played in every game for the Airlie Birds this season but broke his arm in Thursday's 20-16 derby win over Hull KR.

Calderwood, 28, has just returned from a hamstring problem but injured his other hamstring in Thursday's match.

The results on Calderwood's injury is expected to confirm that he faces a lengthy spell out of the game.

Hull coach Richard Agar said: "It will take around eight weeks to heal so it is a blow for us as he will be out for the season.

"I am really disappointed for Rich as he as been ever present for us this season and played in a variety of positions."

Meanwhile, Chris Green, 20, who can play at prop or in the back row, has signed a two-year professional deal at the KC Stadium.

"I was extremely excited when they offered me a deal, there was no going away and thinking I put pen to paper straight away," said Green.
