Hull FC drop full-back Tansey for disciplinary reasons

Hull have dropped full-back Jordan Tansey for Friday's home game against Harlequins for disciplinary reasons.

The club have not disclosed any details of the breach but Tansey's punishment follows the introduction of a strict new code of conduct this season.

A club statement read: "Jordan Tansey is not available for selection due to an internal disciplinary matter.

"He will be available for next week's game against Castleford. The club or player will make no further comment."

The former Leeds utility man joined Hull on a two-year contract in June and started the new season in fine form.

And he was one of the better performers in last week's first defeat of the season at Crusaders.

Tansey's removal from the squad could mean a debut for close-season signing Jordan Turner.

Tansey is the third player to be suspended by Hull in the last six months.

In August, hooker Tommy Lee and second rower Mike Burnett were dropped for disciplinary reasons.

Lee was subsequently released and joined Crusaders but Burnett is back in favour, although he makes way tomorrow for the return from injury of Danny Tickle.
