Tansey joins Hull FC in a 30,000 deal |
Hull FC have signed Leeds Rhinos centre Jordan Tansey on a two-year contract from the start of next season. The 22-year-old player is currently on-loan at the Sydney Roosters in the Australian NRL competition. Tansey told the club's website: "It's exciting to see Richard Agar's squad for 2010 beginning to take shape." The club have already confirmed the signings of Tansey's Roosters team-mate Craig Fitzgibbon and St Helens' Sean Long for their 2010 campaign. Hull coach Richard Agar said: "He gives us versatility, we are looking to make our attack a little more potent and Jordan fits that bill. He can play right across the back line, he is quick, skilful and kicks well. "Anyone who saw him at Leeds knows he can come off the bench and have an impact and can certainly change games. | 606: DEBATE |
He added: "He is an effervescent character, like all the blokes coming in. Jordan has a massive character and that certainly won't do us any harm." Tansey, who has played for Leeds on 52 occasions and for Sydney eight times, struggled for regular first-team rugby at Headingley, and Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington admitted the club could not stand in his way. "Jordan is a fine young player whose opportunities at the Rhinos may have been limited because players like Brent Webb, Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow occupy the positions that he can play," said Hetherington. "He will leave with all our best wishes."
