Richard Butcher's equaliser kept Macclesfield eight points off the relegation zone as Grimsby's winless run extended to 24 league games.
Grimsby took the lead when Jamie Devitt picked up Jean-Louis Akpro's cross, cut inside, and crashed high into the net.
But Town levelled when Butcher's right-foot curler crept past home keeper Nik Colgan as he lost the ball in the air.
Grimsby substitute Nathan Jarman was then sent off in the last minute after raising his hands to Sean Hessey.
