Reardon is awaiting sentence for assaulting his wife |
Hull FC are confident that new signing Stuart Reardon will make an impact at the club following his release from the Warrington Wolves. The club signed the 27-year-old even though he is awaiting sentencing by a Bradford Court after pleading guilty to a domestic assault charge. Coach Richard Agar told BBC Radio Humberside:"He's looking for a fresh start and a change. "He has been honest, full and frank with us over the matter," he added. Reardon, along with St Helens' Leon Pryce will go before the judge on 23 April for sentencing after pleading guilty to assault charges and Hull FC have handed him a contract until the end of the season in full knowledge of the facts. "Stuart's place with us long term is subject to the outcome of that hearing and I've got some understanding to the situation." Agar looks set to resist the temptation to throw Reardon straight into the side for the trip to St Helens on Easter Monday, despite naming the player in his 19-man squad for the game at Knowsley Road. "We named him in the squad as a precaution," Agar added. "For our own protocol we've got some checks to do on Stuart and along with the fact that he's only met the boys for 10 or 15 minutes it's a little bit too much to throw him in at the moment."
