Reardon is awaiting sentence for assaulting his wife |
Full-back Stuart Reardon has left Super League side Warrington Wolves with immediate effect. The 27-year-old former Great Britain international is currently awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to assaulting his estranged wife Kay. The ex-Bradford player missed much of last season with a ruptured achilles tendon and had yet to play a first-team game for the Wolves this year. His contract with the Wolves was due to run until the end of the 2010 season. Since arriving at the Halliwell Jones Stadium from the Bradford Bulls at the end of the 2005 campaign, Reardon was restricted by injury and managed just 48 first team appearances, scoring 11 tries. He ruptured his achilles tendon last May during Warrington's Cup exit at the hands of St Helens and also the end of the 2007 season with a shoulder problem. During his time with the Bulls, he won the Harry Sunderland Trophy for his man-of-the-match performance in the win over Wigan in the 2003 Grand Final. He also represented Great Britain in the 2004 Tri-Nations series, scoring four tries.
