Hull City midfielder Ian Ashbee could play again this season after X-rays revealed that he does not have a serious knee injury.
The Tigers captain had to be helped from the field after being injured in a clash with Aston Villa's James Milner during Monday's Premier League game.
It was feared that Ashbee had suffered knee ligament damage.
The 32-year-old missed more than a year of action for the Yorkshire club three seasons ago with a knee problem.
