Hull FC have signed utility back Todd Byrne on a two-year deal from NRL side New Zealand Warriors. The 29-year-old is seen as a replacement for full-back Shaun Briscoe, who left to join Hull KR.
Byrne becomes the third Australian to sign for Hull FC in the close season, following Shaun Berrigan and Adam Dykes in making the switch to the KC Stadium.
"He has a good pedigree and, though not a household name, he is an excellent addition," said coach Peter Sharp.
"Todd had a lot of experience in the NRL and of course, he has played in a Grand Final.

"Sometimes players without a big reputation become the stars. He will certainly get the job done for us and Todd has the added bonus of being versatile.
"He can play at centre, wing and full-back and that will be good for us."
Byrne, who has over 100 NRL appearances to his name, began his first-grade career with the Sydney Roosters and was a member of their 2003 Grand Final team.
