Berrigan was man of the match in the 2006 NRL final |
Hull FC have signed versatile Australia international Shaun Berrigan, 28, on a four-year deal from Brisbane Broncos. Berrigan, who was man of the match in the 2006 NRL Grand Final, has won 12 Kangaroos caps and has made 12 State of Origin appearances for Queensland.
"I believe the club has a fantastic future," said Berrigan, who will arrive for the start of the 2008 season.
Hull boss Peter Sharp said: "He is an exceptional rugby league player and a tremendous acquisition for Hull FC."
Berrigan, who can play hooker or centre, is Hull's second overseas signing for next season, with fellow Australian Adam Dykes also heading to the KC Stadium.
Berrigan will help replace veteran hooker Richard Swain, who is retiring at the end of this season.
"I have had a fantastic career at the Broncos, winning Premierships, playing for Queensland and of course for Australia," said Berrigan, who has scored 74 NRL tries.
"I am really excited to be joining Hull FC and playing in the Super League and Challenge Cup."
Berrigan was part of the Queensland team which beat New South Wales 10-6 in Sydney on Wednesday to claim the 2007 State of Origin series.
