Drew made 91 appearances for the Giants during his first spell |
Brad Drew says he cannot wait to resume playing for Huddersfield Giants. The hooker, 34, was a fans' favourite during his first spell with the club and has moved back to the Galpharm after two seasons with Wakefield. "An ambition of mine is to win silverware here, we have been close and there or there about for a few years," he told the club's website. "I'm really looking forward to running out in front of the Giants supporters once again next year." The former Canberra and Parramatta NRL player spent three seasons with the Giants during his first stint with the club, which included helping the West Yorkshire side to the 2006 Challenge Cup final at Twickenham. "I'm very excited about the prospect of playing here again next year, I still live in the area and have always followed the Giants progress since I left. "Hopefully we can build on last year's achievements and have a good season in 2010," explained Drew. | If I can help out in any way with the younger halves and hookers then it's something I'm more than happy to do |
"I built a great affinity for the place in my three years here, not only with the fans but also with the players who I got along with great, and a lot of them are still here. People in the area have always been really great with me and I can't wait for next year. "I'm very much looking forward to working with Nathan Brown, although I'm a bit nervous to be honest. "I know how hard it is going to be physically in pre-season but I think that's going to be very good for me. It will get me out of my comfort zone physically and benefit me for the year ahead. "I haven't managed to catch up with Browny as yet; as soon as the season ended we both went away. "I'm looking forward to sitting down with him soon and seeing what role he wants me to play. If I can help out in any way with the younger halves and hookers then it's something I'm more than happy to do."
