Drew will join the Giants for the start of next season |
Huddersfield have completed the signing of Canberra Raiders utility player Brad Drew on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old half-back or hooker, who has also played for Parramatta, will join the Giants next season.
"Playing in England is something that I've always wanted to do after my NRL career," said Drew, who has found his chances limited with the Raiders.
"After thinking long and hard about it, I thought that now was the best time for me to pursue that option."
Giants coach Jon Sharp said: "The signing of Brad Drew is a massive boost for the club.
"When we heard he might be available we moved very quickly to secure his signature. Brad is a tremendous signing for the Giants, his NRL experience and range of skills will add a new dimension to our squad."
Giants general manager Richard Thewlis added: "I think the signing gives a clear statement of intent from Huddersfield Giants.
"When we heard of the possible availability, we moved quickly and it was evident during the discussions that our club and the opportunity to work under coach Jon Sharp were viewed by Brad as an extremely attractive proposition."
