Bradford battled to victory over Hereford despite going down to 10 men.
Gareth Evans scored the wining goal four minutes before half-time, side-footing home after Michael Flynn's 18-yard shot had hit the post.
Bradford twice had the ball in the net through Scott Neilson and James Hanson but both were ruled offside.
The hosts were forced to endure a nervous last nine minutes when midfielder Lee Bullock was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Hereford manager John Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"We were well aware that Flynn can crack one from the edge of the box and unfortunately he got on to one and it came back of the post, and our marking from the rebound was less than we would have wanted it to be.
"It was a bad goal for us to concede from our point of view and it was disappointing.
"We are all a little bit of flat as we felt that after the run that we have had, we haven't quite achieved today."
