Andy Raleigh believes Huddersfield Giants' Challenge Cup final defeat in 2006 will inspire them to win the competition this season.
The second-rower was part of the Giants team that lost 42-12 to St Helens at Twickenham and they now host Castleford in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
"Once you have tasted a final like that you want to do it again and again," Raleigh told BBC Radio Leeds.
"Both the players and fans want to get there again and go one step further."
The Giants have beaten Super League side Harlequins and Rochdale Hornets to reach this season's quarter-final stage.
Raleigh explained: "If we get to the final again this time around hopefully the experiences of last time will stand both me and the team in good stead.
"To play in the final at Twickenham was great, but I think it would be an even bigger occasion to get to Wembley.
"So people around here are starting to get excited now."
