Crabtree is contracted to the Giants until the end of the 2010 season

Huddersfield Giants prop Eorl Crabtree will be out of action for up to six weeks with a torn hamstring.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury during the club's opening Super League game at Catalans Dragons on Saturday.

Crabtree's injury could hand Michael Korkidas his Giants debut against St Helens on Sunday.

"I feel sorry for Eorl because he trained well in pre-season and was probably our best player in the two friendlies," coach Nathan Brown said.

Jamal Lolesi and David Faiumu are also possible replacements in the Huddersfield front row for the visit of Saints.

"We've got some tough decisions to make," added Brown.

"It's never easy when you have a reasonably fit squad."
