Finnigan made 30 appearances for Bradford last season |
Huddersfield Giants have signed back row forward Simon Finnigan from local rivals Bradford Bulls. The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium. The Ireland international told the club website: "There are some really good players here and I will have to work hard to earn my place in the team. "We have a new very enthusiastic head coach starting soon, the squad looks really good and competition for places is healthy." The Australian-raised player added: "I was close to coming here in the past and I'm delighted to be signing now. "It is a club on the up and it's an exciting time to join." He scored seven tries in 26 Super League appearances last season. Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: "Due to the cap, there came a point where we had to say we wouldn't go any higher in negotiations. "We made Simon an offer to stay but his value has gone up because of the progress he's made with Bradford and this is now the nature of the game. "He has been very, very good for us this year and great for the club so we wish him all the best for his future."
