Mason is hoping the Giants can improve their form

Huddersfield Giants prop forward Keith Mason has signed an extended deal, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2011 Super League season.

The in-form 26-year-old said he was delighted to extend his stay at the Galpharm Stadium.

"It's great, I enjoy every minute of it here and I was delighted when the club offered me a deal," Mason told the club's website.

"This place has just got so much going for it."

He added: "As far as I'm concerned though, the main priority right now is making sure we finish this season strongly.

Keith's best years are still in front of him

"Nobody is happy with the way things have gone this year and we're desperate to do what we can to make sure we get some good wins under our belt."

With John Skandalis having played his last game for the club, Mason accepts he now has an even bigger role to play at the club.

"I know I need to take more responsibility. I'm still relatively young but I now feel as if I'm one of the senior players and know I have an important role to play," he said.

Giants managing director Richard Thewlis was also happy to have guaranteed Mason's services until 2011.

"Keith's best years are still in front of him and I look forward to him taking the extra responsibility as one of our senior players going forward," he said.
