Skandalis says he has enjoyed his time in Super League |
Prop John Skandalis has played his last game for Huddersfield and will leave the club at the end of the season. Skandalis, currently sidelined with a knee injury, joined the Giants from Wests Tigers two years ago and has not been offered a new contract. "The club and myself have agreed it's time to move on," said the Australian. "This has been a great experience and challenge. I've no regrets at all about coming here. It's probably the best decision I've ever made." Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis said: "John has been great for the club and we got exactly what we wanted with his signature. "Both on and off the field he has been a model professional and it will be sad to see him move on. "I guess the most disappointing aspect for the supporters and for John is that he has played his last game in the claret and gold as the knee injury won't clear before the season is over." Skandalis will return to Wests Tigers to take up a youth development role, although he has not yet decided to retire.
