Catalans Dragons have signed Sydney Roosters prop Lopeni Paea on a two-year deal, their sixth signing for the 2011 Super League season.

The 26-year-old, who captained Tonga at the 2008 World Cup, played 93 NRL games for the Roosters, scoring three tries.

He said: "I'm delighted to sign with Dragons and play in the Super League next season.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the supporters and investing in the Catalan culture," he added.

Dragons coach Trent Robinson said: "Lopini is a strong and powerful front rower with good footwork. He has the potential to form a quality partnership with David Ferriol, Remi Casty, Jamal Fakir, Sebastien Martins and Michael Simon.

"He has a proud Tongan heritage and strong sense of community."
