Orr left Castleford for Wigan Warriors in 2004 |
Castleford Tigers have named half-back Danny Orr as captain for the new Super League season. The 32-year-old, who has returned to the The Jungle after spells with Harlequins and Wigan, previously skippered the Tigers in 2002 and 2003. "Danny has plenty of experience under his belt and is ideal for the role," said head coach Terry Matterson. "He leads from the front and is a natural leader. He has all the traits of being a good captain." Orr takes over as skipper from hooker Ryan Hudson, who faces competition for his place from Adam Milner. "It's a really good opportunity to rotate our hookers and I think we'll get a lot more out of them," added Matterson. "With the emergence of Adam Milner in the hooking position, Raz [Hudson] won't be out there as much as he has had to be in previous seasons. "This will also ease the burden off Raz, though he'll still be a leader in the side amongst some of the other senior guys as well."
