Higgins joined the Tigers from Hull FC at the end of the 2006 season |
Castleford Tigers prop Liam Higgins has agreed a new one-year deal which will keep him at the Jungle during 2010. The 25-year-old, who signed from Hull FC, has scored one try in 22 appearances this season. Higgins said: "It's good to have got things sorted out with my contract and I'm looking forward to another season with the Tigers. "This year we have taken a big step forward and we'll all be disappointed if we don't make the play offs." "With the squad being more settled year on year, I can't see any reason why we can't go even better in 2010." Doncaster-born Higgins spent four seasons with Hull FC before switching to Castleford. He won promotion with the Tigers in 2007 and has made 76 appearances for the club to date. | I'm looking forward to seeing Liam improve still further Tigers coach Terry Matterson |
Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: "Liam is another popular member of the squad and I am pleased to have him on board again for next season. "Liam signed for the club just before we were relegated in 2006 but he showed his commitment by honouring the contract so he's been through our ups and downs in recent years. "But he has been playing as well as ever in recent weeks. "He is the perfect age for a prop, complimenting both the senior members of the squad and the youngsters and I'm looking forward to seeing Liam improve still further."
