Higgins started his senior career with Hull FC |
Prop Liam Higgins has agreed a new one-year deal with Castleford Tigers, which will keep him at the Jungle for the 2009 season. The 25-year-old joined the Tigers from Hull FC in 2007, helping the club win promotion from National League One. Higgins said: "I'm glad to have agreed a new deal, I have enjoyed playing a full season in Super League. "It's been a tough year but I feel that we are improving and we will kick on next season." Tigers' head coach Terry Matterson said: "I am pleased that Liam has agreed a new deal and I look forward to working on improving his game. "He has played in all but one game this season and I feel that with another season under his belt will continue to get better. "Liam is a popular member of our squad and his signing will be well received by his peers."
